Owner-Tenant Negotiations the Focus of Upcoming ACRE Luncheon

Well-known industry representatives ‘battle it out’ on Nov. 11 in Long Beach

LONG BEACH (Nov. 4, 2014) – In the first-ever ‘Developer and Tenant Face Off,’ well-known industry players will battle it out, discussing how they overcame challenges in dealmaking and structured win-win scenarios. The luncheon, hosted by the Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives (ACRE) of Southern California, will take place Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11:30 a.m. at The Grand Long Beach Events Center.

“Our intent is to give everyone a glimpse of what landlord-tenant negotiations are like in today’s retail environment,” said Coreland Companies Senior Associate Ben Terry, ACRE Board Member and panel co-coordinator. “We are very excited to be featuring a panel of active developers and national retailers that will be sharing a few trade secrets and keys to successful negotiations.”

Panelists include: Kristen Holst, Dick’s Sporting Goods Director of Real Estate; Tom Carpenter, Development and Acquisition Manager at Frontier Real Estate Investments; Jason Askinosie, Development Manager at Dunkin’ Brands; Andy Natker, Executive Vice President at Haagen Company; Gene Detchemendy of Charles Company; and Pat Barber Vice President of Real Estate at Smart & Final Stores.

“We are looking forward to bringing together this great group of professionals that has worked on a variety of deals together,” said Highpoint Capital Group Managing Director and panel moderator Steve Selcer. “They will be sharing case study examples of challenging deals, what they had to do to get through them, and lessons learned for the future.

“ACRE continues to be a source of provocative and informative discussions within the retail sector of commercial real estate. This event will offer an amazing opportunity to walk away with valuable insight.”

Additional panel co-coordinators are Michael Robinson of Buckner, Robinson & Mirkovich, Marshall Lichterman of Marinita Development Co., and Christian Marabella of Marabella Finance.
